Twitter™ ZALive! stream features

  • Based on jQuery and the lightweight and fast juitter plugin.
  • Works as a live twitter monitor for your Joomla!™ site with automatic refreshing of the search results. You can watch live what people are saying. Do not slow down your page while tweets are loading.
  • Configurable update intervals. Set the number of seconds to wait between checking for new tweets.
  • Abbility to set the maximum number of tweets to show at once (max = 100).
  • Two different search modes. It's possible to search for tweets from a specific account, or to search for tweets which include a pre defined searchword or hashtag.
  • Advanced search possibility. Site visitors can update the displayed tweets by clicking on a hash tag (#) or account(@). Nice for quick thematic searches.
  • Option to restrict the display of tweets by a given language ( ISO 639-1 ). Atm the stream support following languages by default: EN-DE-FR-NL-ES-PT-JA-RU-EO.
  • Support to search for multiple users/words. Simply separate more then one term by comma. Example: news,hot,drama.
  • Option to filter words to avoid bad content. Just add the words that should been removed as comma separated list. Additional, support for replace bad words insteed of remove them.
  • Automatic linking of URLs and users. It is possible to choose whether to open links in a new window or in the same window.
  • Abbility to change the display of the username. If AVATAR was choosen, then an image is displayed insteed of the plain text formated Twitter username.
  • Easy configurable via Joomla menu item specific parameters. It is possible to link from a Joomla!™ menu to the component as many as one needs and you can set for every menu link different component paramaters.
  • Fast to integrate visually into your joomla installation. The output is wrapped with Joomla!™ standard CSS classes.
  • Built on top of Nooku Framework 0.7, works with Joomla™ 1.5 only...atm

Twitter™ is a social networking and microblogging service. Our Twitter™ ZALive stream works as a live monitor for your Joomla!™ site with automatic refreshing of the search results. You can watch live what people are saying. You will love it!

For our own study puposes, the stream was implemented as one part of ZALive, a Nooku™ based component, developed for Joomla™ 1.5 & 1.6. It's alpha state software, WIP. Just a demo.

When using our nice Twitter™ mosaic as a smart remote control, the update interval time will be set up automatic to 120 sec. But, for the demonstration purpose, searching via the component itself, sets down the interval to 5 sec (live mode).
